The Allure of Punches and Kicks–HIYAA!!
Seriously–I’m just blown away. I still can’t believe it. Every single time I log in to my blog, I check the stats. I’m still floored. Even moreso, it baffles me. I’ll explain.
Out of every single post since September 4th, there’s one I’ve written very long ago that seems to get consistent hits. Over and over and over and over again. Search terms upon search terms click in all over the world concerning this one particular aspect of writing. It’s so popular! And I simply wonder why.
Again, I have to say–there’s something in the water. People go crazy for this topic. And I still can’t figure out why. Moreso, I developed the topic further with future posts, and yet those posts don’t nearly get as many hits as this original post! I’m tellin’ you, people, I left a comment at the bottom of the original post–there are other posts you might enjoy relating to fight scenes in literature
. Check them out. Please. Share the wealth. “How to Write a Fight Scene” is kind of getting tired, kiddies!
Seriously, though. I can’t complain. I find it remarkable. I only write this post about the allure of punches and kicks because I had checked my stats on pages from yesterday and today–
How to Write a Fight Scene - 35 hits (!!!!!) Nov. 14
How to Write a Fight Scene - 34 hits (!!!!!) Nov. 15 (today).
Again, SERIOUSLY. WHAT. Is. In. THE WATER? Everyone’s interested in fighting. Again, not that I’m complaining. But I need to know the reason. Anyone comment, please. Give me your thoughts as to why it’s so interesting to know how to write a fight scene? Is it really that hard? Or is it popular? There are plenty of scenes out there that are sooooooo much fun to write–sex scenes, chase scenes, courtroom scenes, the butt-in-the-moonbeam-walk-with-the-sexy-music-in-the-background scenes. (Haven’t had a chance to write that scene, but I tell you, it’s got to be a killer when I do. I keep thinking of “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaac.)
I am officially opening up for discussion. I expect answers (or more questions) here. Come on, people. Don’t be shy. I’ve noticed one thing about my blog, and that is lots of readers shy away from comments for some reason. That’s okay
. Not now. I want input. I want opinions. I want, I want, I need, I need. Feed me. Talk to me, honeys. Show me the money.
Why is it so popular, so interesting, so important, to know how to write fight scenes in your work? Okay, ready?
DISCUSS.
