Hasta La Vista…Baby….

Published by roustan under Uncategorized Edit This

Seriously, there aren’t that many trailers out there that give me serious goosebumps. But I got to tell you, this trailer #2 for “Terminator: Salvation” literally kicked my proverbial ass. Holy. Crap. Coming from the old-school late ’80s generation of badass Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, namely “The Terminator”, I adored that hardcore, dark-tone, action-style, hardboiled thriller science fiction–same with “Alien” and “Aliens” and “Alien 3″ and yadda yadda.

But, seriously, people, you’ve GOT to check this trailer out. Click the link.

SLAM!

Big time ding! ding! ding! here. Don’t ask me how they come to mind. They just come. I can’t complain, though, the topics that run free in my head. Most of it is due to my place in life. My struggles. The more I struggle, the more I believe. The more I pour my heart out, the more I can see it in the world, waving like oceans among the masses. And I’m not afraid of spreading it out too thin either. My core stays strong. It’s all me. It comes from me. I’m still breathing. I’m still writing. Hopefully, you’re still reading!

The topic that just slammed in my head is just that–slams. Poetry slams, to be exact. As you may already know, I enjoy performing. But a slam grabs your gut and pulls it out with words. It wrenches your insides. It reminds you that you’re human. That you’re flawed. I loooooooove slams.

I’ll go into more detail in a later post, though, on the concept of slam poetry. It’s a good one. But I had to do a search on one particular film, back in 1998, a film that inspired me on so many levels. We’re talkin’ gritty. Real life. Real pain. That’s where love is born, too. Love needs something to conquer.

And you better believe you’ll be seeing more clips of this. I would say this post would be an “Eloquence of Words,” but it’s more than that; this belongs on its own category. I’d say it’s not “eloquent” at all. These bits are beautiful. But intense. Hard. And bitter. Rage before eloquence: that’s what this is.

Take this in real good. Because you’ll be seeing more of this. Get slammed. Prepare yourself.
