Quote of the Day: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

“Life moves pretty fast.

You don’t stop

and look around once in awhile,

you could miss it.”

A Day Off for the Wretched Writer in an Icebox

Published by roustan under Uncategorized Edit This

Sometimes the 66-hour work week can get to me. So I’m on a day off. Freezing. Apparently I left the window slightly open while asleep last night, and it was -300 degrees outside.

I have definitely decided that this is a major component of real Writer’s Block–a freezing room. My fingers are like icepicks. I HATE Michigan. Sometimes.

SLAM - Saul Williams, Master Poet

Published by roustan under Poetry Edit This

As you already know, Slams are a phenomenon to me. The words of these poets enter me the way a woman enters me and engulfs me in her warmth, her breath. It’s like being whisked away. Those words seep into your skin and never leave you. You feel it in the air, too.

I’ve never actually experienced a Slam contest before nor performed in one–but I sure as hell would want to do both.

So I’ve got another clip for you from the movie “Slam” with the veritable Saul Williams. Awesome wordsmith. Check it.
