Saran Wrap and Saunas

Published by roustan under Uncategorized Edit This

Surprise! I’m here in Lansing right now. What a crazy test….

I don’t have long on this computer (the hotel has an internet room), so I’ll make this quick. Tomorrow, I get my physical. Now, normally, I’d be worried (which on some level, I guess you can say I’m ‘concerned’); but I’m not worried. Instead, I’m somewhat amused.

Let me phrase it this way. Saran wrap and saunas are VERY important. There you go. You learn something new every day (just don’t pass it around too much).

Also, that 3-hour long test I took was a doozy. And honestly, I thought I bombed a few sections.

However, when I got my test scores back, my petty officer informed me of the highest possible score–99.

I scored a 95.

So I think I did okay.

Anyhoo, I’ll keep you posted tomorrow when I get back to Grand Rapids. We’ll see what positions will be available given my test score. It’s all up to God now.

In the meantime, I need to take a step into the sauna here (won’t tell why–it’s classified) and then commence usage of the saran wrap (won’t tell why–it’s classified. I’d tell you and then I’d have to kill you).

Cheers. And Taco Supreme.

Last Words Before Lansing

Published by roustan under Uncategorized Edit This

As I promised, people, a post before leaving for Lansing. Big decision coming my way very soon. I haven’t been in a hotel, all paid for, since…. Well, actually never. Usually it was my parents paying for the hotel. Or me paying for the hotel. Or me saving money to reserve the hotel and then stay in the hotel and not buy ANYTHING on TV to watch except crappy cable.

Food included, too. It’ll be fun.

I’m keeping an eye out for Chuck and Freak, too. Freak’s still at the Taco Supreme Station, but he might show up. Chuck’s at the floral shop working his part-time job (hopefully he’s not jizzing blood over the flower stigmas, trying to reproduce with the greenery).

On a cheery note: I left work today, too, and reiterated to my boss about my two days in Lansing. She saw that I was nervous. She asked me why. I told her I didn’t know. I’m irrational.

I mentioned how I’d be staying at a hotel on the Navy’s tab and that food would be provided as well.

She smiled and said, “Really? Are they sure they want to do that?? Seriously?? I mean, Pierre, you eat A LOT!”

For the first time in a long while, I smiled and laughed hard. It felt good.

Anyway, so keep praying, keep reading, keep living. Come Thursday, hopefully I’ll have news that’ll make you believe that the world provides adventures and experiences, experiences worth writing about. Blessings. And dreams come true.

Take it easy, people. Wretched Writer, signing off….
